At the heart of my business is a deeply personal story—one that fuels my commitment to service, compassion, and advocacy.
In April 2024, my mother was diagnosed with lung cancer. In an instant, I became more than her daughter—I became her caregiver, advocate, and support system. Managing her care while navigating a complex healthcare system showed me the real meaning of resilience, and the critical need for community support and accessible information.
When she passed on July 5, 2024, the experience left a lasting mark. It not only reshaped me personally but also redefined the way I approach my work—putting empathy, intention, and advocacy at the forefront of every service I provide.
Today, I honor her legacy by volunteering with organizations that align with my mission and values:
  • American Cancer Society (ACS) – Volunteer Advocate
  • ACS Black Volunteer Caucus (BVC) Affinity Group – Member
  • American Lung Association – Community Supporter & Advocate
These roles allow me to uplift voices of caregivers and patients, push for healthcare equity, and advocate for the protection of vital programs like Medicaid, the CDC, and the NIH—resources that were essential during my mother’s care journey.
At KPM Legacy, LLC, community is more than a concept—it’s a commitment. Whether I’m offering HR consulting, concierge support, or administrative services, I bring the same heart and purpose that guided me as a caregiver.
Because caring isn’t just personal—it’s also professional.

Giving Back: A Mission Rooted in Purpose

Community in Action: Relay For Life Participation

As part of my ongoing commitment to advocacy and service, I proudly participated in the American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life—an event that holds deep personal meaning for me and aligns with the values of my business.
Relay For Life is more than a fundraiser. It’s a movement of survivors, caregivers, and advocates who come together to honor those affected by cancer, celebrate survivors, and raise critical funds for research, support services, and hope for the future.
Walking in this event was a tribute to my late mother, who bravely battled lung cancer, and to every family walking a similar path. It was a reminder that behind every diagnosis is a real story—a story of strength, resilience, and community.
My participation in Relay For Life reflects the mission at the core of my business: to lead with heart, serve with purpose, and support individuals and families during some of life’s most challenging moments.
Whether through professional services or community involvement, I remain committed to making a meaningful impact—one step, one story, one cause at a time.

Advocacy in Action: Lung Cancer Advocacy Day 2025

As part of my ongoing commitment to advocacy and community impact, I had the honor of participating in the American Lung Association’s 2025 Lung Cancer Advocacy Day in Washington, D.C. This national event brings together survivors, caregivers, and advocates from across the country to meet with lawmakers and push for policies that protect and support those impacted by lung cancer.
For me, this was more than just a day on Capitol Hill—it was personal. After caring for my mother through her lung cancer diagnosis in 2024 and losing her that July, I vowed to use my voice to make a difference. Advocacy Day gave me the platform to speak directly to U.S. Senators and Representatives about the urgent need to protect Medicaid, expand access to care, and preserve funding for life-saving research through the CDC and NIH.
This experience reaffirmed the mission behind my work: to lead with compassion, purpose, and advocacy in everything I do. It’s the same mission that shapes my business—whether I’m offering HR consulting or personal support services, my goal is always to serve with heart, integrity, and impact.
Because business should not only solve problems—it should uplift people.

In honor of her journey and the countless others facing life-threatening illnesses, I proudly participated in the 2025 Cover Alabama Protect Medicaid event—an advocacy campaign dedicated to safeguarding access to healthcare for all Alabamians. Hosted by Cover Alabama, the event brought together caregivers, community leaders, patients, and professionals to urge lawmakers to expand and protect Medicaid coverage across our state.

At KPM Legacy, LLC, my advocacy informs how I serve others. Whether through HR consulting, concierge services, I  bring the same empathy, strength, and purpose that carried me through my caregiving journey.
